8th Grade
The 8th grade program aims to bridge the gap between middle school and high school. As a follow up to the 7th Grade Initiative, the 8th Grade Bridge seeks to sustain the teachings and support of the Y by providing a safe place where students can continue to develop personally and academically.

6th-10th Grade
Girls Who Code is a FREE program for 6th-10th grade girls where girls work in teams to use their coding skills and bravery to solve a real world problem they care about. Meetings are hosted every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the York YMCA.

Kid’s Night Out
Ages 5-12
Kids Night Out is offered one Friday of each month (excluding summer months) from 6:00-9:30pm. There will be fun activities including roller skating, arts & crafts, swimming, and gym activities. Pizza will be provided the night of the event.

The York and Eastern Branches welcome parents for Parent’s Night out! An opportunity for parents to take the time they need, while their child enjoys a fun-filled evening of games and activities in a safe environment. Second Friday Night of each month. 5:30pm-8pm. Ages 3-11. Free with Family Membership. $10 per child for all others.

5th-7th Grade
This summer program aims to prevent summer learning loss while getting fourth and fifth grade students excited about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Y Readers
1st to 4th Grade
A reading program designed to help students improve their reading and writing skills and to address the achievement gap the nation faces.
The program runs for 7 weeks over the summer months. Students who participated in summer reading programs increases reading levels by 2.7 months. Y Readers are more confident and interested in their education than the average student. Participants receive educational tools, daily pool passes, and attend weekly educational field trips.

Y-Achievers
9th to 12th Grade
Y-Achievers is a college-preparatory program that helps teens and young adults prepare for their futures. The program includes: Career exploration, SAT/ACT preparation, tutoring, networking, mentoring, college tours, communication workshops, and leadership development workshops. Learn more

Youth and Government
7th - 12th Grade
This program aims to develop young men and women to be better citizens by being both knowledgeable and active in determining the future of our democracy. Students meet with other Youth and Government clubs, discuss, debate and propose legislation for change.

Ages 11-13
Youth learn to how to use cardio and strength equipment safely and effectively in this 4 class program. A new fitness topic and skill is introduced each week. Parental participation is required.
