2020 YORK YMCA STROKE CAMPS
The York YMCA Stroke Camp is 3 hours of focused work that’s sure to grow your knowledge and increase your skill. The camp is led by the York YMCA coaching staff, a highly experienced group of coaches who are committed to excellence in coaching. This is a high tech camp and we use the most advanced technology in swim video capture and analysis.
Commit yourself to improving your skills and learning more about the proper stroke mechanics. Learn by watching your own strokes in high quality video (underwater and
over) and take home the video to watch on your own or with your team coach. Improve your swimming performance by taking advantage of this cutting edge camp.

Each camp includes:
- 30 minute of stroke technique overview in a classroom setting (power point and video)
- 90 minutes of skill work in the pool (indoor SCM pool)
- 60 minutes of underwater video (current camp focus stroke filmed from 4-6 angles in HD and 4k resolution
- 8 GB flash drive with camper’s videos and elite athlete’s videos to compare and contrast. (VERY HELPFUL! This is the gift that keeps on giving)

Introduces swimmers to the team sport of swimming. Levels of novice to expert, swimming in a healthy competitive environment with great coaching and instruction.Email Team Member
Indoor Lap Swimming
The York YMCA’s Graham Aquatic Center is a state of the art 34,306 square foot natatorium that contains a 345,000 gallon indoor pool. The average pool temperature is kept at 79 degrees.VIEW SCHEDULE
A youth swim, bike, run event for kids ages 7 and older. Hosted by the York YMCA Aquatic Club, this event encourages youth to try a new sport. Free swim clinics are included in the registration. Learn moreRegister
Masters Swim Team
Open to adults 18+ looking for instructional competitive swimming. Training for a triathlon, used to be a swimmer and miss the coaching, want to get better at swimming workouts, ect. are just a few of the options for joining this group.Email Team Member
Instructional swim ages 5-18
This swim program is geared to prepare swimmers ages 5+ to be on a competitive swim team. Swimmers will get a taste of competitive swimming in a fun and low pressure atmosphere while focusing on the four competitive strokes. Participants must get evaluated before registering.EMAIL TEAM MEMBER

YMCA Competitive Swim Team
Competitive swimming ages 5 - 18
The York YMCA’s Competitive Swim Team is open to youth of all levels & abilities. It is the perfect program for those who love to swim but have never competed on a team It is ideally for those who enjoy competitive swimming but enjoy a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere. It is especially beneficial for high school swimmers wishing to stay in shape during the off-season. Swimmers compete in local swim meets that give them friendly competition and teach them sportsmanship and teamwork. Practice is held at two locations, the Graham Aquatic Center, located at 543 N. Newberry Street in York, and the York YMCA Southern Branch, located at 100 Constitution Ave in Shrewsbury.
