  • Keep the registration and run in the October 11 event
  • Defer your registration to May 2021 event
  • Donate your registration fees to the YMCA disease prevention and management initiative

Whether you are aiming for a Boston Qualifying time or are running your first long distance race, the York Marathon and Half Marathon is a fast-paced chip-timed event hosted by the York Branch YMCA.

6:15 a.m. – Half Marathon Start
10:00 a.m. – Half Marathon Awards
11:00 a.m. – Marathon Awards
12:00 p.m. – Race Course Closes

Register early and save!  Race cap is 750 runners.  Minimum participant age is 16 years.

February 16 – March 15, 2020 – $80 Marathon  $60 1⁄2 Marathon

March 16 – April 15, 2020 – $90 Marathon  $70 1⁄2 Marathon

April 16 – May 10, 2020 – $100 Marathon  $80 1⁄2 Marathon

Registration closes on Sunday, May 10, 2020 and will resume on Friday at packet pickup, provided space it available.
Race day registration is NOT available.

The race begins at the York Branch YMCA, 90 N. Newberry St, York, PA 17401 and ends just 2 blocks from the YMCA at Lafayette Plaza in the heart of the City of York. Race day check-in begins at 5:15 am. The marathon begins promptly at 6:00 am; the half marathon at 6:15 am. The race route closes at 12:00 pm.

The flat race course begins on city streets and transitions to the York County Heritage Rail Trail and ends at Lafayette Plaza.  The trail surface is compacted crushed stone.  This is a USATF certified marathon course.  York Marathon/Half Marathon Map

Male and Female (24 & under) (25-29) (30-34) (35-39) (40-44) ( 45-49) (50-54) (55-59) (60 -64 ) (65-69) (70 & over)

Overall Male and Female Winner plus Male and Female Age Division 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. All runners will receive a finisher medal. Runners registered by May 1, 2020 are guaranteed a moisture wicking short-sleeved race shirt.

Water stations are located approximately every 1.5 miles along the course.  Stations provide water, Gatorade beverage and Gatorade and Gu gels.

Runner safety is a priority!  Wright, a professional traffic safety company, and local fire police will man all intersections along the race route.  YARS, FCC licensed amateur radio operators who focus on emergency communications, will be on the trail to provide communication to emergency medical crews and to race coordinators.  WellSpan Sports Medicine will provide 3 first aid tents manned by physicians: 2 tents on the course and 1 at the finish line.

Pacers are not provided for either the half or the full marathon events.

Friday, May 15 (12:00 – 7 p.m.) and Saturday, May 16 (10:00 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
York Branch YMCA, Loucks Conference Room. Parking is available in the YMCA lot located off Clarke Avenue, adjacent to the Y building. Please enter the building through the back entrance from the parking lot. Bring ID.

You MAY pick up a packet for another runner, provided you have a photocopy of their ID.

Bag check is available at the Member Service Desk of the YMCA.  Bags will be checked by Bib number

Runners registered for the marathon may change to the half marathon, however a refund for the price difference will not be issued.  Injured runners may defer their race registration to the 2020 race provided the Race Director is notified by midnight  May 11, 2020.  Deferred registrations may not be deferred a second time.  Race registrations may not be transferred to another individual.
